Intellectual Property & Brand Use Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains who owns what at AFOLAOLA, how our names and logos may be used, and how to reach us about intellectual property. It applies to this website and to the AFOLAOLA brand across all of our products.

It works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Each AFOLAOLA product may also publish its own terms and privacy documentation. Those product terms govern the use of that product. If they conflict with this policy about how you may use a product or your own content in it, the product terms apply. For the use of AFOLAOLA's names, logos and brand, this policy applies.

1. Ownership

AFOLAOLA owns, or is authorized to use, the content and technology that make up this website and our products. That includes:

  • software, source code, databases and interface designs;
  • text, graphics, icons, illustrations and layouts that we create;
  • our names, logos and taglines (Section 2).

It does not include third-party materials (Section 7) or content that belongs to our users (Section 6). Using our products does not transfer any ownership to you. All rights that are not expressly granted are reserved.

2. Trademarks and brand names

AFOLAOLA uses the following names and marks to identify its company and products, and treats them as trademarks:

This also covers our logos and app icons. This page does not state that any of these marks is registered in any particular country. Trademark rights can exist through use, and the absence of a symbol next to a name does not mean the name is free for anyone to use.

Trademark and copyright are different things. Trademark protects names, logos and other signs that show who a product comes from. Copyright protects original works such as software, text, images and designs. Permission to mention or display a name or logo as described in Section 3 does not give you permission to copy our software, text or other creative works.

The name AFOLAOLA draws on ọlá, the Yorùbá word for honor and wealth. We use the word with respect and ask that you do the same.

3. Permitted use

You do not need permission to refer to our products by name, truthfully. Without asking, you may:

  • write about, review, compare or criticize AFOLAOLA and its products, using the names as spelled in Section 2;
  • use the unaltered logos and icons we publish on our Press & Brand page in news coverage, reviews, event listings and educational material, to identify us;
  • state truthfully that you use, work with or recommend one of our products.

When you first mention a product, please name it as “OlaTime, a product of AFOLAOLA” (likewise OlaPurse, OlaOrder and FindOja), keeping the spelling and capitalization shown above.

Nothing in this policy limits uses that applicable law allows without permission, such as quotation, criticism, review, or fair use and fair dealing where they apply.

If you want to do more, for example co-branding, advertising, a partner or reseller listing, or a product integration, email legal@afolaola.com before you start. We aim to reply promptly.

4. Prohibited use

These rules are about confusion and misuse. They are not meant to stop honest discussion of our products. Without our written permission, you may not:

  • suggest that we sponsor, endorse, partner with or are responsible for you or your product;
  • alter, recolor, crop, animate or combine our logos and icons with other marks or designs;
  • use our marks, or a name confusingly similar to them, as part of a company name, product name, app name, domain name, social media handle or advertising keyword;
  • register, or apply to register, any of our marks or a confusingly similar name as a trademark, domain name or social media handle;
  • sell or distribute merchandise, templates or services under our names or logos;
  • imitate the look and feel of our products or website in a way likely to mislead people into thinking yours is ours;
  • use our marks in a way that is false, misleading or unlawful.

If you are already using a name that might conflict, in good faith, tell us at legal@afolaola.com and we will work with you to resolve it.

5. License to use our websites and apps

This section applies to this website. Each product’s own terms may add to it or replace it for that product.

Subject to the applicable terms, AFOLAOLA gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our websites and apps for their intended purpose, for your personal or internal business use. Unless applicable law or a product’s terms allow it, you may not:

  • copy, modify, sell, lease or distribute our software or content;
  • reverse engineer or decompile our software, except to the extent applicable law permits despite this restriction;
  • access our sites or apps by automated means in a way that overloads them, bypasses limits or bulk-copies content, other than ordinary search-engine indexing;
  • bypass or interfere with security, access controls, billing or usage limits;
  • copy the design or code of our products to build a competing product.

A business that runs a shop on OlaOrder may operate that shop under the product’s terms. This does not give it any rights in OlaOrder itself.

Nothing in this policy grants free or discounted access to any paid product, feature or plan, or waives any fee. Access to paid products is subject to each product’s own terms and pricing.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have under mandatory law that cannot be waived by agreement, including consumer-protection and interoperability rights.

6. Your content and your data

You keep ownership of what you put into our products, such as your entries, schedules, shop, product listings, photos, descriptions, prices and messages. We do not claim ownership of it.

You give us a limited license to host, store, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to operate the product and provide the services you asked for, and as you direct.

Some products let you publish content publicly. If you publish an OlaOrder storefront, you choose what is public. Joining FindOja is optional. When you publish a listing, you allow us to display it, index it, make it searchable and link it to your OlaOrder storefront on FindOja for as long as it stays published. FindOja is a discovery layer and does not take orders or payments. If you remove a listing, we stop showing it on FindOja, but copies held by search engines or others may remain for a time outside our control.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload. We may remove or disable content that infringes the rights of others or breaks the law, as set out in the relevant product terms and in Section 9.

Where a product works entirely on your device, we do not receive that data, and nothing in this policy gives us a license to it. How we handle personal data, including export and deletion, is described in our Privacy Policy and in the privacy documentation of the product you use.

7. Third-party materials and open-source fonts

Our products and websites may include material owned by others, such as open-source software, fonts, images and third-party services. Those owners keep their rights, and that material stays under its own license. Nothing in this policy claims ownership of it or limits the rights those licenses give you. Names and logos of other companies belong to those companies, and showing them does not imply any partnership or endorsement.

This website serves three typefaces from our own servers under the SIL Open Font License 1.1: Space Grotesk, Inter and IBM Plex Mono. Their license texts are available here: Space Grotesk, Inter and IBM Plex Mono. These typefaces are not AFOLAOLA marks.

8. Feedback and ideas

We welcome suggestions. If you send us feedback, ideas or feature requests, you agree that, to the extent permitted by law, we may use them in our products and business without paying you or crediting you, and without any obligation to keep them confidential. This does not apply to your own content (Section 6) or to anything we have agreed in writing to treat as confidential.

Please do not send confidential or sensitive information, or material you do not have the right to share, through general feedback channels. Any personal data in your message is handled under our Privacy Policy.

9. Reporting infringement, changes and contact

Reporting infringement. If you believe that content on our websites or products, or someone’s use of our marks, infringes your rights or ours, email legal@afolaola.com. Please include:

  • your name and contact details, and who you act for if it is not yourself;
  • the work or mark you say is infringed, and a way to identify it;
  • where the material appears, such as a link;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information you provide is accurate, and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

We review reports promptly. While we do, we may remove or disable access to material, or restrict an account. We may share a report, including your contact details, with the person responsible, and we handle personal information under our Privacy Policy. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, reply with your explanation and we will review it. Please report in good faith, because knowingly false reports can have legal consequences. This process is a practical way to reach us. It does not replace any procedure or right available to you under the law where you live.

Changes. We may update this policy as our products and brand evolve. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page. If you keep using our marks after an update, you agree to follow the updated policy. If you do not agree, please stop using them. How product terms handle changes is not affected.

If any part of this policy is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
